LECTURES

As a former church camp pastor, speaking for me was a love rivaling filmmaking. I was producing music videos while giving sermons. But two years into a sexless marriage, my theology—especially around sexuality—crumbled, and I lost my passion to speak.

Fifteen years later, after my divorce, a voice within called: “Make Holy Erotica.” This journey took me across the country and over oceans, and eventually, back to my hometown in Arkansas, where I rediscovered my voice.

The Holy Erotica film studies have become a platform for me to speak from.  I can share my story, my dharma, and reclaim another craft I genuinely love.  Below is a summary of my LECTURES in development, some of which combine elements of a webinar or workshop.

THE LILITH TRILOGY

3 FILM STUDIES | 3 CORE BELIEFS | 3 LECTURES

The Holy Erotica film studies gave me 3 important pillars becoming the CORE BELIEFS of the Church of Holy Erotica Community and personally, for my life. This 3-part lecture series uses the films and my experiences as metaphor for an even larger, more essential arc: the ascension of our consciousness during an era of expansion.

  • Just For One Day

    This lecture goes into the indoctrination of religion and the conditioning of mainstream media regarding sexuality.  It is the patriarchal view of toxic masculinity.  From this position, I pursue my first Holy Erotica experiment — a confrontation with two lesbian adult actresses.   This explosive step into erotic filmmaking includes a bombastic encounter with the Ark of the Covenant, and form there Kabbalistic Judaism, where I am first introduced to LILITH.  

    • 1st Belief of Holy Erotica:Sexuality and Spirituality are SYNONYM. 

    • “HOLY”, 1st Definition: Set apart.

    • Healing Arc:Transformation, discovering our child-psychology and what was. 

  • Cosmic Touch

    This lecture is in-part a prequel to Study 1, investigating a spiritual experience known as transreverberation, being ravished by the Holy Spirit, or a Kundalini Awakening.  I investigate Dr. Kristina Kincaid, a former Victoria Secret’s model turned anthropologist, theologian, and healer and her documented account of her own kundalini awakening.  This leads me into Christian Mysticism and the introduction to Isis Initiation and the Mary Magdalene thread.   This matriarchal perspective investigate the feminine in the holy trinity and is paralleled with a second Holy Erotica experiment — an investigation into self-pleasure. 

    • 2nd Principle of Holy Erotica:  If Sexuality and Spirituality are synonym, both EXPAND. 

    • “HOLY”, 2nd Definition: To be pure and elevated.

    • Healing Arc: Trancendence, following the body and emotion.  

  • Magdalene Remembered 

    This lecture is the reconciliation of the masculine and the feminine.  My father dies, and I go to Hawaii and learn about my roots in the Philippines. I go there and discover the story of the barrel man and my granduncle the mayor of Baguio who banned it. I learn about the story of the Aswang and the original story of resistance and how it parallels with Hawaii.  Meanwhile, I investigate my own white-washing in my third Holy Erotica film — a transmission from a spiritual experience that began before all my studies. I discover the nation’s religious-sexual wound and healing distinction — the EROTIC CHRIST.

    • 3rd Principle of Holy Erotica:If both God and Sex expands, Love also EXPANDS. 

    • “HOLY”, 3rd Definition: To make Whole.

    • Healing Arc: Transfiguration, embodiment of both parts (Transmutation of Transformation and Transcendence.)

THE EMBODIED HOLY SPIRIT

The HOLY SPIRIT the most mysterious character of the Trinity, is equated to a kundalini awakening, a fierce spiritual-physiological phenomenon articulated in Hinduism as a transformative expression of divine feminine energy. This can inspire people to change politically, religiously, any type of -ly!

This workshop is a “Shaktipata” experience. Shaktipat refers to a spiritual practice in Hinduism where a spiritual teacher or guru transmits divine energy to a student, essentially initiating them into a deeper spiritual path by "awakening" their inner power, often described as "Kundalini Shakti" - meaning the "descent of divine grace" in Sanskrit; it's considered an act of grace from the guru to the student. In Christian terms, this event is known as the Pentecost, or the “descent of the Holy Spirit”.

A global awakening is upon us. This workshop is one way to inspire and articulate this phenomenon. It is a REVIVAL of the embodied Holy Spirit.

THE EMBODIED HOLY SPIRIT | THE KUNDALINI

To contextualize the nature of the Revival workshop, I offer the following artifact as a study of the mystical kundalini. It is a study that I needed to edit to integrate my understanding into my body.

  • In this film study, I edit Dr. Kristina Kincaid’s experience with the kundalini which she self-filmed in a Mayan temple, and how that led her into healing work.

    I then edit my story with the kundalini with my own footage which addresses my sexual wound. It’s important to note that the kundalini / Holy Spirit is NOT about sexuality for everyone. It just happens to be the case for me.

    Christian Mysticism and religious art was my gateway to understand the kundalini. My apprenticeship was my guide to create Holy Erotica Film Studies as healing containers that can potentially, not always, ignite the kundalini in others.

    This video ends showcasing the workshop space that Kristina and I hold together, a weaving of non-western and western spiritual narratives together in the body. It depicts the power of the kundalini as it emotionally feels to me, as the embodied fire of the Holy Spirit, an agent of REVIVAL.

This montage helped me conclude that the kundalini (aka the Holy Spirit) is, in fact, the love-energy at work underneath my Holy Erotica Film Studies with a reach far beyond sexuality, but to heal a divided nation, and beyond this, a disembodied world.
