THE HOLY EROTICA COMMUNITY
TEMPLE SPACES, spaces for sexual healing, are resurfacing at conscious communities and fringe spaces, even in private homes, but still beyond the awareness of mainstream culture. These isolated spaces aren’t always as safe as they imply because the privacy required to have them shelters further incidences of abuse.
A name that my co-filmmakers and I have loosely used to reference our gatherings is “The Church of the Feminine”. Though not a formal church, the term has spread, igniting both women and men to meet on a common conviction, that eroticism and the feminine form is holy — not of the Devil — and that Shame under the guise of the Christian church is religious trauma.
For those on this active healing path escaping a community of shame, there is an equal need for community to reclaim. Hence, I reference the Holy Erotica community as the CHURCH.
The purpose of these erotic film studies is to create a space adjacent to mainstream culture — IN ART — so that this sacred expression can exist somewhere while also being accountable to a “witness”.
In this VIRTUAL TEMPLE SPACE, both participants and witnesses embody the FREQUENCY OF LOVE, of RADICAL GRACE, the LOVE OF CHRIST, and move this energy where we hold our trauma and shame. These are co-created spaces of NOURISHMENT, of ORIENTATION, and of ACTUALIZATION so that all can re-nourished and give back to a world suffocating in shame.
