MAGDALENE REMEMBERED, is a poetic TRANSMISSION of Christened Word, Luminous Body, and Provocative Image; an Erotic Short Film that Unites the Divide between Eros and Divine.
WITNESS MAGDALENE on a self-initiatory journey of mystery and reality, a weaving between the sanctuary of her bed and the secret caves of ancient church; from taking holy sacraments to RECLAIMING HER INNOCENCE, to following her into the underworld of A HIGHLY EROTIC SELF-PLEASURE JOURNEY, and finally, to the ocean where fire meets water for a REVELATORY SELF-BAPTISM.
By viewing this film, you are invited to experience EROTIC GNOSIS; to meet your body with REVERENCE, and enter a portal of devotional connection to ALL THAT IS. By experiencing the Holy Spirit of Pleasure within us, we can remember that the fabric of the universe is LOVE.

This film is a prayer for healing between Hawaii and America. We acknowledge how the ‘Aina (land) was taken through broken promises, and how Christian marriage was used to shame and suppress the Hawaiian culture—once sexual, fluid, accepting, and loving. Today, Hawaiians remain displaced, yet quick to forgive, share, and welcome.
Hawaii taught us to embrace the beauty of our skin and the color-blindness of the heart. Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, volcanoes, lightning, and wind, embodies the spirit of creation and family.
This film is a prayer—a celebration of dance, fire, and the feminine sensual embodiment that reimagines Christian sacraments. It honors Hawaii, a land once dishonored by Christianity, and the ostracized feminine aspect of Christ.
This is our love letter to the ‘Aina and Pele, and a ho’oponopono prayer for the Christian faith and American nationality. “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.”

A PRAYER FOR HAWAII
Proverb: "Mai ka piko o ke po'o a ka poli o ka wāwae, a l'a ma na kihi 'ehā o ke kino."
Translation: “From the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, and the four corners of THE BODY."
Meaning: Used in prayers of HEALING.
a return to the original church
We began with three spaces: a church, a cave, and a baptismal setting. Each of us brought our craft: Lauren as the poet of words, Kelly as the poet of dance and embodiment, and me as the poet of imagery. Lauren directed the set, Kelly guided her dance and erotic expression, and I directed the edit.
SEXUALIZING THE PRIESTESS
The narrative of Mary Magdalene, as presented in the Gnostic Gospels, reimagines her as Christ’s erased feminine counterpart—a priestess—contrasting with her portrayal in American Christianity as the prostitute who followed Jesus.
In the first edit of Magdalene Remembered trailer, she is depicted as a dualistic figure, embodying both love and lust—polarized through a masculine lens. This creative choice has sparked backlash from women celebrating the emergence of the priestess from obscurity.
However, the SEXUALIZATION OF THE PRIESTESS is not meant to re-subjugate her to the male gaze, but rather to elevate the eroticism inherent in all human beings. We are all priests and priestesses, and we are all erotic beings, regardless of gender.
Magdalene Remembered premiered on the Big Island of Hawaii at an event called Holy Erotica Presents: An Evening of DIVINE DEBAUCHERY—a showcase of art, film, music, and dance hosted by Lauren Searles. The event featured Eros Rising, a dance exhibition led by Kelly Klein, celebrating erotic innocence.
The marketing campaign for the event went viral across the Big Island, drawing criticism for being too sexualized. However, the event itself was a far cry from the backlash. It fostered high-vibe conversations, celebrated both feminine and masculine eroticism, and served as a ceremony bridging native Hawaiian culture with the hippie community. Pre-event criticism gave way to post-event praise.

“Through this MANIFESTO, we are rewriting the religious narrative. SEX IS shameful SACRED. WE ARE BORN WITH ORIGINAL sin PURITY. THE FEMININE DOES not BELONG IN THE HOLY TRINITY.
We are placing the Womb at the center of creation as the Holy Grail, Earth as the Original Church, and the Body as the First Temple, worthy of sensual worship.”
